02.17.10 | Outer Bridge playing DC's legendary Blues Alley March 29th!
After a successful series of performances in fall 2009, the OBE kicks off yet another exciting year with an appearance at the prestigious Blues Alley jazz club in Washington, DC!

11.03.09 | The Unknown Tour resumes Nov 5th!
Western Canada Tour Dates coming up! in Red Deer at the Matchbox Theatre, continuing on to Canmore for the Vic Lewis Festival, and the Yardbird Suite in Edmonton. Then its on to Saskatchewan, where the Outer Bridge will be joined by two stellar Canadian musicians...Juno award winning Toronto pianist David Braid, and Calgary drummer and composer Tyler Hornby. For the final show of the tour, the Outer Bridge welcomes back pianist Steve Hudson.

10.08.09 | First leg of fall tour completed!
The Outer Bridge had a great time touring beautiful British Colombia!With recent performances at the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival, Old FireHall Jazz Festival in Rossland, The Cellar in Vancouver, and George Elliott Secondary in Winfield, the band is looking forward to dates in Alberta and Saskatchewan in November!

07.11.09 | Outer Bridge open for jazz great Kenny Werner
Mark DeJong and the Outer Bridge Ensemble played a successful opening set for the Kenny Werner Quintet. Following a busy work as the faculty for the TD Canada Trust High School Jazz Intensive, the band was privileged to share the stage with some of today's finest touring musicians, including Randy Brecker, Scott Colley, Antonio Sanchez, and Canadian saxophonist Kelly Jefferson.

07.11.09 | Outer Bridge preparing for western Canadian tours this fall
Mark and the Outer Bridge are preparing for two ten day tours in western Canada this fall. With appearances at the Old Firehall Jazz Festival in Rossland, the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival on the Sunshine Coast, Edmonton's Yardbird Suite as well as the Vic Lewis Festival in Canmre, the fall season is promising to be filled with great performances.

Outer Bridge band member Mark DeJong features his bandmates on his debut cd "The Unknown". Released on the Chronograph label in June 2008, "The Unknown" reached #2 on the Earshot top 20 of 2008. "The Unknown" is now available on Itunes, as well as the Chronograph website.

Steve Hudson is set to release his new cd "Shine" on January 20. After a successful tour of Italy in November with guests James Zollar and Mark DeJong, Steve continues forging ahead with his original music.

01.06.09 | "The Unknown" listed at #2 in Earshot charts top 20 jazz albums for 2008
"The Unknown" released on Chronograph records is the debut for Mark DeJong and the Outer Bridge Ensemble. Reaching #2 in the top 20 jazz albums for 2008, "The Unknown" spent 13 weeks in the top 10, with two weeks in the #1 spot!

01.06.09 | Outer Bridge Ensemble will perform at the 2009 Sasktel Jazz Festival
The Outer Bridge returns to Saskatoon as the artists in residence for the TD Canada Trust High School Jazz Intensive, led by Mark DeJong. The Outer Bridge will also be featured performers on July 3rd at the Broadway theatre.

09.30.06 | Outer Bridge Ensemble is awarded funding from the Canada Council for the Arts
In the summer of 2006, the Outer Bridge Ensemble was awarded assistance from the Canada Council for the Arts to embark on a 10-day tour of Alberta and Saskatchewan. The tour took place in September, with performances at clubs, galleries, schools, and colleges across the two provinces. Response to the tour has been fantastic, and future tours for the group are in the planning stages. Check back often to find out the latest events happening with the Outer Bridge Ensemble....
